S/4HANA transformation & ECC exit
From readiness check to go-live — brownfield, greenfield or selective data transition.
Fact sheet
- Duration
- 3 months to 2 years
- Format
- Readiness check, then mandate (2–4 days/week)
- Deliverables
- 5 deliverables
The ECC deadline is approaching, but the migration path is disputed and the proposals are far apart.
Most ECC customers know they have to migrate — the question is how. Integrators often recommend the path that suits their own utilisation, while business units fear that a re-implementation will disrupt day-to-day operations.
I create an independent basis for the decision: what is really in your system, which legacy is worth keeping, and which path fits your organisation and your timeframe?
Deliverables
- Readiness check assessing custom code, data quality and interfaces
- Decision paper on brownfield, greenfield or selective data transition
- Roadmap with milestones, budget range and resource plan
- Tender documents and evaluation of integrator proposals
- Quality gates up to go-live, including the cutover plan
Approach
- Step 01
Assessment
System analysis, custom-code review and interviews with business and IT.
- Step 02
Path decision
Brownfield, greenfield or SDT — evaluated by risk, cost and business value.
- Step 03
Roadmap & tender
A realistic plan to 2027 and a tender that produces comparable proposals.
- Step 04
Delivery oversight
Quality gates, integrator governance and cutover preparation through to stable operations.

Frequently asked questions
Is there still enough time before the end of 2027?
For a brownfield approach usually yes, if the decision is made by mid-2026. Greenfield programmes in large groups often take longer — then a transition strategy with extended maintenance becomes part of the roadmap.
Do you replace the integrator?
No. I represent your interests towards the integrator, create comparability and assure quality. Implementation remains with the integration partner.
What does the readiness check cost?
It is offered at a fixed price. I will share the range in the initial call.
